Swim
Team is a competitive swimming program…not swimming
lessons. Swim Team aka “Thomaston Upson STINGRAYS”
is managed by the Thomaston-Upson Swim Team Association.
This group of volunteers and parents work to provide
support of swim team through practices, swim meet
management, and fund raising.
Swim Team
is open to ages 5-18. Registration is usually held in
March. Participants must undergo a swim evaluation prior
to being accepted on team. (registration fees are
refunded if swimmer is not accepted) |

For 2008, we plan to use the High School Lap Pools located
in the old Carter's warehouse,
Gordon College's pool and Recreation Pool. We expect to
hold both morning and early evening practices to better
accommodate family schedules.
Swim meets are conducted
on weekends, normally having a meet every weekend in June.
Usually a meet will be held Friday evening and all day
Saturday. Meets usually attended are in Griffin,
LaGrange, Macon and Americus. The State Qualifying
Meet for our District will be held mid July and the State
Swim Meet is held in Tifton on July 25 & 26.

Swimmers must purchase a team swimsuit, goggles and some
swimmers purchase swim cap. Swimmers also are
required $15 per day meet event fees. |
