Recreation Pool Renovation ~ $550,000
30 year old existing pool and bath house located on State Highway 74 east
  • Bath house has no electricity or lights
  • Pumps/filters archaic, no skimmer system
  • Pool leaking and water line problems
  • Plumbing, electrical, roofing, and structural problems
  • If possible, include youth/kiddie pool area

Community Park Improvements ~ $350,000

Weaver Park,  Thurston,  Salem,  Park Street,  Potato Creek Heights,
Lincoln Park, and  Yatesville

Through community input, various projects have been identified for each area.
Some projects include:
  • Pavilions
  • Fencing
  • Benches
  • Scoreboards
  • Bleachers
  • Basketball Courts
  • Restroom Improvements
  • Ball field Improvements
  • Playground equipment

Ball Field Lighting ~ $250,000
  • Adult softball fields at Civic Center have lighting fixtures installed over 30 years ago.  Fields 1 and 2 need wooden poles taken down and replaced with galvanized steel poles and new lights.

  • To expand athletic programs and play games in the evening
  • Lighted ball fields are needed for soccer complex.  Soccer is one of the fastest growing youth programs.
  • Youth softball complex has two lighted and two unlighted fields.  Lighting all fields would allow scheduling additional practice and game time.

New Practice Fields ~ $350,000
  • Athletic teams are practicing on any green, flat area available.  Teams are using Armory, old airport, Atwater, Silvertown tennis area and the like.  Safe, lighted multi purpose practice fields with bathroom facilities are needed for teams to practice football, cheerleading, softball, soccer, tee-ball, and baseball.  This facility could include pavilion, picnic areas and a walking track for the public to use while youth teams are practicing.
