FLAG, GRASSCUTTER AND PEEWEE
CHEERLEADER
RULES
1. Cut off date for each age
group is prior to September 1st.
Age groups are Flag – 4, 5, & 6 year olds, Grasscutters
– 7 & 8 year olds,
Peewee – 9 & 10 year olds, and Squad Leaders – 11 – 15 year olds.
2. To be a Squad Leader, a girl
must be 11 years old before September 1st.
3. Once a girl has been drafted
to team, she cannot change.
4. Cheerleader practice will be
held on Tuesdays and Thursdays of each week from 5:30 – 6:30 pm at Weaver Park.
5. First choice will be given
to girls who have a brother or sister on a particular team the previous year up
the designated number per team.
6. Second choice of a team will
be given to girls who have a mother helping with a team.
7. Third choice of a team will
be given to girls who just want to cheer for a team; these girls will be placed
on a team.
8. There will be a $25.00 fee
assessed to each girl participating for team dues. This is to help pay for banquet and trophies.
Dues must be paid by Saturday, September 17th.
9. There should be three (3)
team mothers per team. At no time should
the girls be left alone during practices.
10. If two (2) practice
sessions are missed without a very good reason, that girl does not cheer at the next game.
11. If a cheerleader misbehaves
at practice, the team mother has the right to make her sit out the following
game and possibly dismiss her
from the team, if approved by the Recreation Department.
12. Cheerleader Squads do not
have sponsors. Team Mothers please DO
NOT ask football sponsors for donations.
We have lost sponsors due to teams asking for more than sponsorship fees.
14. All girls must be at each game 15 minutes before
the scheduled starting time and picked up 15 minutes after each game is over.
15 .Each team is to stay together at all
times during the games. There should be
no running around, horse-playing, etc.
16. Each team is to be respectful of the team it is
cheering against at all times showing good sportsmanship.
17. No Smoking:
We are requesting all adults not to smoke in around plain view of the
girls at practices and games.
18. Team Mother Dress Code: We ask that you please dress appropriately
when assisting at practices or games.
Improper Attire: Skin tight shorts, short shorts, and tops
that are revealing.
19. After Thursday, October 6th there
will be no more cheerleader practices.
20. Princess and Queen Preliminary Judging will be
held on Monday, September 26th and Finals Judging Thursday,
September 29th at the Civic Center.
21. Crowning of Princess
and Queen will be Saturday, October 8th at 7:00 pm.
