2009 TEE-BALL RULES

1. No score keeping will be allowed.  We want kids to play without the pressure of winning or losing.  Please inform your parents of this.

2.  Each game will consist of 4 innings or 1 hour.  No innings start after 1 hour.

3.  Each child must play a minimum of 2 innings per game.  Only 10 players may play at time.

4.The continuous batting order will be used for games.  Outs will count. When a team gets three outs, teams will change sides. If a team bats around, the last batter will bat like any other batter and not be made to keep running the bases without stopping. (If he/she sets a 1 Base Hit that is as far as he/she goes and the teams change sides.)

5. There will be a dead ball line between home plate and the pitcher’s mound.  A hit ball must cross this line to be playable.

6.On a hit ball, the defense must throw the ball across the dead ball line to stop runners from advancing.

7.  If a runner is more than half way to a base when the ball crosses the dead ball line, then, the runner will be awarded that base.  If the runner is not half way to a base when the ball crosses the dead ball line, then, the runner will go back to that base.

8. Runners are allowed only one (1) base on overthrows at 1st and 3rd base, if the ball goes into foul territory or the outfield.

9.     A defensive coach may stand behind the pitcher to direct his players.

10. Coaches, remind all parents that these 5 and 6 year olds are also watching us.

11. The batting team’s coach moves the tee after each batter, so that players may touch home plate.

12.  All players must play at least two different positions in every game.

13. If games are rained out, they will not be rescheduled.

14. Defensive players must play in the standard defensive positions.  Outfielders  in the outfield and infielders in the infield.

15.   Coach may pitch four pitches before player hits off the tee.

16.Home team will pick up game ball at the Civic Center on the day of the game, or at the concession stand from Mr. Hardy Mitchell.
